Soft Tech’s Deployment Platform was originally launched in 2019 as a tool to give database owners an easy way to update multiple users of V6 via a web portal. This tool means automatic updates for our customers which removed 100’s of hours of hands-on, manual updates. By simply adding the latest executable file to the Deployment Platform portal, our customers could deploy updates to all their V6 user’s simultaneously and at the click of a button.
Along with updating all your user’s V6, Deployment Platform will also run checks and create backups so you have the ability to monitor the deployment for any issues through a custom dashboard. Once you’ve initiated an update, you can also view who has updated their V6 and if there were any issues where an update failed. This gives our customers instant visibility and reassurance, rather than finding out later down the line that a user (i.e. a fabricator) had an issue with the V6 update.
In mid-2020, the Soft Tech development team worked at enhancing the Deployment Platform to become compatible with Soft Tech’s Cloud Solution. With the latest release of V6 3.8 our development team has gone through the process of certifying the Deployment Platform to seamlessly update your V6 3.7 customers to V6 3.8.
Since the release of the deployment platform in 2019, our customers have released over 600 V6 updates, which have successfully updated over 10,000 users. We have heard stories of time savings in the range of weeks from the manual process, compared to deploying updates now through the Deployment Platform.
The latest Deployment Platform release will automatically update your users, so when you chose to update from V6 3.7 to V6 3.8, you can do so just like any other update you’ve done in the past.
