As of Tuesday 1 October 2019, Robert Murdoch will be joining Soft Tech as an Implementation Consultant, along with Jonathan Murdoch and Jordan Hewitt who will both be joining the company as specialist Soft Tech V6 Consultants.

Of the new appointments, Robert, originally from what is now known as Zimbabwe, emigrated to the UK in December 2000.  He was first introduced to Soft Tech V6 when handed a manual and a login for a V6 machine over a Christmas shutdown in December 2002, while working as a Temporary Bookkeeper with Howarth Timber.  In 2012, he was approached by the Production Manager at Howarth Timber to come on board and manage IT Support for company-controlled machinery and assume full responsibility of the Soft Tech V6 software.

Over the past seven years, Robert has managed Howarth Timber’s database and the maintenance and support of Soft Tech V6.  Robert’s areas of expertise include database development and maintenance and leading technical analysis for product changes.

Robert has been married to his wife Debbie for 38 years and they have 4 children of their own, along with being Foster Carers, currently looking after two ‘foslings’ aged 3 years and 19 months.  They also have 5 grandchildren.

Robert was a Volunteer Instructor with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, as an RAF VR(T) Officer in Charge of the Initial Training Flight at 195 (Grimsby) Squadron, and as Wing Radio Officer for Trent Wing. In his spare time, he enjoys spending weekends away in his touring caravan.

Jonathan and Jordan also join Soft Tech as new appointments, both have experience in software database development and expert knowledge gained from working exclusively within Soft Tech V6 over the past 5 – 6 years, alongside Robert at Howarth Timber.

Jonathan started his career on the factory floor, where he soon became involved in running and programming the CNC Routers.  He developed an understanding of CNC automation as a V6 output and working with V6 Scheduling Software. Spending most of his time in manufacturing, Jonathan has gained industry knowledge of the production process and a solid understanding in the manufacturing of timber windows and doors.

Jonathan also volunteered for the Royal Air Force Air Cadets as an Adult Sergeant overlooking drill, discipline and teaching radio and cyber skills.  In his personal time, he enjoys gaming, reading and watching cricket and rugby.

Jordan pursued IT as a subject in college, successfully completing several IT related courses throughout his studies. During his time at Howarth Timber, Jordan gained experience in managing scanning systems to track flow/manufacturing of products through the production line, with input in designing, producing and maintaining bespoke software/systems.  Jordan specializes in SQL queries and reporting, macros and formulas, and thrives on solving complex problems such as bug fixing and troubleshooting/tech support.

In his personal time, Jordan enjoys gaming, collecting and reading various genres of books, and he has a passion for bodybuilding, gym and nutrition.
