Soft Tech supports Corporate Sponsorship for Indian NGO, Project Bagiya of The Sanshil Foundation.

Earlier this year, co-CEO Tyron Ball visited Soft Tech’s India Office to discuss the business’ operational strategy, and work to align this with the recently adopted global support and implementation model.

Soft Tech’s India office is made up of over 20 support and implementation staff, who headed by Global Implementation Manager, Rohit C. Puri, perform an integral part in servicing our global customer base.

Apart from addressing internal operations, it was also discussed how we as a company, could give back to the local community in Gurugram, home of Soft Tech’s India office. It was at this point that Rohit introduced The Sanshil Foundation, in particular Project Bagiya, which has been a cause close to his heart for a number of years.

Project Bagiya

Project Bagiya is a remedial school that focuses on bridge education, catering to the slums in and around Sector 50 Gurugram. Currently students are being supported academically and financially in mainstream education.

From humble beginnings in 2009, where their first class of 10 students gathered under a tree in a local Gurugram park, Project Bagiya now operates out of two centers with 300+ students enrolled, and has mainstreamed over a 1,000 students since its inception. Some Project Bagiya supported students are currently pursuing their undergraduate degrees and a few have gone on to find employment in the corporate world.

Project Bagiya integrates communities through holistic and academic learning. Pathways have been created through sports, art and craft and theatre activities.

Taking Action

A Corporate Sponsorship was discussed at the following Board meeting and resulted in unanimous agreement to supporting The Sanshil Foundation’s, Project Bagiya.

Following this, the Soft Tech India team purchased some gifts after taking up an office collection, and visited Project Bagiya to distribute these to the a very excitable bunch of children.  Here our team had the opportunity to meet with Sanshil Foundation’s founding member, Shilpa Sonal.
